FreeRADIUS is developed under the GNU General Public License, and is free for download and use.

Public Releases

The latest version of the server is 1.1.3 (PGP Signature). We strongly recommend that you use it in preference to an older version. The older versions are available for archival reasons, and should not be used. The following PGP key may be used to validate the release binaries.

We do not supply binary packages, tar files, or RPM's of the server. We suggest contacting your OS vendor to see if they have a build of the server specifically for their software.

Daily Builds

There are two other methods of getting FreeRADIUS: Downloading a source tarball (either of a release or of a nightly CVS snapshot) or using CVS to download the latest development version.

One should be careful of the daily builds, as the server is under active debvelopment. The CVS builds may not even compile, much less work as one hopes, so unless you're curious, or if you want to help further develop the server, you should almost certainly choose to obtain the latest released version from the top of the list, above.
